Search Engines at one site: click on the Home page of the Episcopal Academy, Merion, PA to access a full collection of Search Engines.

Global Excite has a menu of countries in which to search, including
Excite Spain
Excite France and Excite Germany and Excite Italy.
Yahoo has many international sites, including

Spanish Yahoo with links to Spanish-speaking countries around the world.

Click on Alta Vista and Hot Bot> for a pull-up menu of countries in which to search. For Alta Vista, type in Spanish in box asking for language of choice.

Click on Magellan site then on countries to bring up countries beyond the US.
Click on Lycos for information relating to other places, including foreign travel, government and specific topics. Click on Lycos Spain for all matters Spanish.

REVIEW OF BITNET/INTERNET LISTS FOR LANGUAGE LEARNING: save pages 1 and 2 with directions on how to subscribe (via WWW and email) to lists concerning ESL, Germanic, Romance, Slavic, Middle Eastern, African, Asian, and Pacific Rim languages. Research specific FL lists and subscribe to join discussions. Share findings with other newsgroups.

The ACTFL Home page: the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign languages has links to specific language organizations and offers information on all aspects of foreign language teaching. Click on area of choice in this extensive menu.
Academic Organizations for FL Teachers: Click column One of Agora, a Language Marketplace, for basic information about FL Organizations including AATF, AATSP, AATG and AATI in North America and throughout the world or column Two to link directly with their Web site. Swarthmore Language Lab on the Web: M Jones offers an excellent site with useful links to many languages, especially French, German and Spanish.

Centro Virtual Cervantes visit this excellent site from Spain for investigations in Spanish on many topics relating to the Spanish speaking world. There are links to the entire Spanish-language world, including dictionaries, online texts and literature; search engines in Spanish; sites dealing with politics and government of many countries and media. For information on individual Spanish-speaking countries, scroll down to Recursos de Internet; click on buscadores, indices y directiones then on area of your choice including Hispanoamerica, Spain, and Spanish-speaking countries from around the world.

University of Toledo Spanish page: browse this Spanish language site for many useful sites including sites for Cuban Music and the Art of Diego Rivera on the Net.

El Mundo Latino: the first stop for information about the Arts, press, literature, Sports and general happenings in the Spanish-speaking world. Click on Escalera Temática for an index of categories to research. Gastronomía for recipes from the Latino world;Música Latina, Prensa Latina and more.

Center for the Study of Books in Spanish for Children and Adolescents Centro para el Estudio de Libros Infantiles y Juveniles en Español: an excellent resource for Spanish language studies at all levels. Click on “Recommended Books” to access the center's database of more than 5000 recommended books in Spanish for children and adolescents published around the world.

Spanish language and Hispanic Culture an extensive collection of sites from Tennessee Bob dealing with all aspects of the Spanish-speaking world. Lists include Spanish-Language Search engines, maps, and many useful link sites for Spanish language and cultures. The Spanish Music collection is extensive.
