Search Engines and Internet-related Dictionaries in French:

Glossaire informatique des termes de...terminologie informatique a French language glossary of basic technology terms put out by the Minister of Technology. The best way for technology neophytes to use is to scroll down to end of the site where one can click on to specific French computer related terms. A second option is to scroll down (derouler or defiler) the list(bypassing the alphabetic choice) and read the definition in French. Most entries include an English translation.


La Page des Lexiques: click on this page from the Ministere de Culture for French language dictionaries related to the Internet. Sites include: Un dictionnaire de néologie internet; L'abc des réseaux; Vocabulaire d'Internet; and glossaires de termes d'informatique et d'Internet.

Electricite de France (EDF) Le Net magazine: This excellent on-line magazine put out by Electricite de France offers articles in French on topics such as Renewable Energies, The 50th Anniversary of EDF, Electric Autos. Click on Archives to pull up additional articles from prior issues. Assign one topic per group (Electonic Autos includes 9 articles) for an excellent project dealing with the environment.
