The 2003 Girls Tennis team enjoyed tremendous success this season. With the entire team returning from its undefeated season a year ago, the girls knew they would have a target on their back and would get every team’s best effort. The team added perennial powers, Harriton, Radnor, and Conestoga to its schedule this year on top of a very competitive Inter-Ac league schedule. The girls had one of those dream seasons going undefeated throughout the league and overall. Every practice was full of enthusiasm, hard work, and, of course, fun. The girls carried a quiet confidence into each and every match and rose to the occasion in several key matches throughout the year. In every match, someone new stepped up to secure the victory. The team will miss the seniors’ leadership, support, and experience, but with many underclassmen returning, the future looks bright. I am looking forward to a new group of leaders stepping up and continuing the tradition of winning tennis and outstanding leadership at Episcopal!
