| After losing over half of last year’s starting lineup,
the varsity soccer team faced the difficult challenge of rebuilding. The
team responded admirably and improved steadily throughout the season. Success
for the team is not reflected in the record but rather in the tremendous
growth and improvement the players experienced over the course of the season.
The highlight was a 2-1 come-from-behind victory against league rival Agnes
Irwin. In addition, the squad had key wins against Notre Dame and Friends
Central and put forth an outstanding effort against league powerhouse Germantown
Academy. Under the leadership of five year varsity starter and ’03
captain Alison Murray, the young team gained valuable experience and established
a solid core of returning players. The team would like to thank its seniors
Frances Fox, Lindsey Johnson, Lexi Miller, and Alison Murray for their hard
work, leadership, and dedication to the program. |
