Middle School Athletics General Information

The Athletic requirement for Middle School is 3 seasons of athletics. 

6th grade students will participate in the 6th grade sports program and practice will take place during regular school hours as outlined on each student’s schedule. Sixth grade students cannot compete on 7th, 8th, or Upper School teams.

Seventh and eigth grade students (combined) will practice Monday - Thursday from 2:05pm - 3:30pm and on Friday from 2:05pm - 3:00pm. Under certain conditions, 7th and 8th grade students may compete on Middle and Upper or just Upper School teams.

Fall sport signups will take place on first day of school and coaches will follow up with information on what is appropriate clothing and equipment for each sport. All medical forms MUST be returned to the nurse’s office BEFORE anyone can participate in fall practices.

Practice Uniform Policy:

  • Shorts, t-shirts, and athletic shoes will be required for first day of sports, September 4th.
  • EA athletic gear will be available and each student will be required to wear EA athletic uniform daily at practice.

Policy for Middle School students playing on an Upper School Athletic Team:

  • Middle School students will participate on Middle School teams.
  • Eighth grade students may not participate on an Upper School team except for certain rare exceptions (for more information contact the Middle School Athletic Director).
  • In rare exceptions (like Olympic caliber athletes), Middle School students will only be able to participate on Upper School without having to participate on the Middle School teams.

Sports Program - 6th Grade

  1. Each student will have the opportunity to choose a fall, winter, and spring sport.
  2. Students will practice and learn the fundamentals of each sport. There will be intramural competition scheduled at the end of each season in order for the students to understand and prepare for game situations.
  3. Sixth Grade students may not participate on 7th and 8th grade teams.
  4. The students will be required to wear an EA practice uniform for each practice session. (See Practice Uniform Policy above)

  • Day 1 and Day 7 from 10:25am-11:55am
  • Day 3 and Day 9 from 12:35pm-2:05pm
  • Day 5 and Day 11 from 8:15am-9:40am
